Kilcloony holds a forgotten chamber of small fields beside its cashel, stretching 150 metres through what is now open pasture. Their curved edges and modest size suggest they served the rectangular building hidden inside the fortress rather than the wider valley. Perhaps residents farmed the narrow plots for vegetables, herbs or grain while the stone wall watched over them. The land kept that shape long after the people left, waiting for satellite light to reveal the hands that made it.

In pastureland. FitzPatrick (2019, 25-6) noted a series of small fields and plots, on LiDAR imagery, surrounding a cashel (GA016-0137----) and extending over an area c. 150m WNW-ESE and c. 115m NNE-SSW. Their small size and organic form suggest that they are part of a field system associated with the possible rectangular building (GA016-137002-) visible in the W half of the interior of the cashel.
