Field system in Deelin More

Field system

What is recorded here

Deelin More holds a old field system on the southeast edge of Ailwee Hill, looking down the valley and connecting toward a local cashel. Its walls still mark the terrace where people shaped the land, while the wider hill remains covered in changing boundaries. The view explains why the place mattered: distance, defense and daily life all became visible there.
On a prominent terrace on the SE extent of Ailwee Hill commanding the valley below and within a large multiperiod field system (CL005-104001-/CL006-001---*) stretching all over the hill to the NW. A number of field walls extending from a cashel (CL006-212----) and enclosure (CL006-212002-). This monument was reported to the National Monuments Service by Michael Gibbons.
