Carrownaherick East holds a forgotten neighbourhood where small fields still angle south from a ringfort and a round stone house. The walls appeared only when a plane flew low in November 1987, pulling a hidden layout from the limestone scrub. People may have lived there long enough to shape the slope, tend its fields and leave the circular house standing while the wider world moved on.

On a gentle SW-facing slope in scrub and limestone cragland. Aerial reconnaissance in November 1987 (ASGAP 384:24-6) revealed a series of field walls in the area surrounding a ringfort (GA057-076001-) and a well-preserved circular drystone house (GA057-160----) which lies 175m to ESE of it. These enclose a series of small fields whose principal axis appears to run N-S. Intermittent traces of old cultivation ridges were also visible.
