Shehy Beg holds a sixty-metre stone wall above the bog, curving like a forgotten gesture on the southern mountain slopes. It closes a narrow terrace where steep ground rises on both sides, suggesting people once shaped that small flat space before water and moss swallowed the wider land. The wall still protrudes, stubborn and clear, while the rest of the valley has become dark and soft.

A length of pre-bog wall just protruding above the surrounding bog high (c. OD430m) on the southern slopes of Shehy Mountain. It closes off the eastern end of a level terrace with steep slopes to south and north. It is c. 60m in length and orientated northwest- southeast, curving noticeably in the northern half.
