Mooghaun South holds ancient field walls inside a hillfort, marking repeated human claims on the same land. One wall runs twenty-two metres southward with large limestone blocks set upon bedrock, then turns west along the rampart summit. It is not a temporary boundary but a shaped line of ownership, exclusion or passage, built through phases of enclosure on the hill.

A number of field walls occur on Mooghaun hill representing more than one phase of land enclosure. In the SE quadrant of the inner enclosure of Mooghaun hillfort (CL042-074001-), two walls (CL042-074028- and CL042-074029-) are likely to be ancient features. One wall (CL042-074028-) extends S for 22m from the centre of the quadrant onto the rampart. It consists of large limestone blocks set directly on the bedrock or propped on smaller stones. In part up to three courses survive up to 0.8m in height. At the S end the wall was constructed on the rampart itself and turns sharply to the W, running along the summit of the rampart.
