Field boundary in Derreenataggart East

In a level area of rough upland grazing, on a mantle of blanket bog, on the SE foothills of Miskish Mountain. A relict stone field boundary (T 0.7m; H 0.5m) commences c. 20m NW of a fulacht fia (CO115-121001-) and extends in an ENE direction for a distance of c. 25m. It then turns and extends E for c. 28m, terminating at a modern field fence. The initial stretch consists of base stones that protrude through the thin bog cover. Some of these stones are set upright and at right angles to the line of the wall. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
