What is recorded here

In rough pasture, on a N-facing slope, on the E bank of the Drimminboy River. Relict field walls (T 0.55m), which protrude (H 0.4m) above the shallow bog cover, extend over an area measuring c. 80m N-S by c. 100m E-W. Numerous breaks occur in the poorly preserved walls. Rubble from the collapsed upper courses is embedded in the bog near the walls. There is a hut site (KE111-023001-) within this network of relict walls. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2011
