Field boundary in Bunnamohaun

Situated on the lower south-eastern slopes of Knockmore, 25m W of one of the tributaries of the Owenmore River. Another isolated wall (MA084-033----) lies c. 50m upslope to WNW on the opposite (western) side of the stream. It consists of a linear band (L 20m × Wth 1m) of moss- and lichen-covered stones that protrude intermittently through the sod (H 0.2m max.) It meanders downslope on a rough NE–SW axis. Towards its upper (north-western) end it is clearly overlain by the upper end of a linear, earthen bank (Wth c. 1m × H 0.3m), which runs downslope on a N–S axis. The latter is flanked on either side by drainage/run-off gullies. The regular profile of the linear bank would suggest that it is of relatively recent origin, perhaps eighteenth or nineteenth century in date.
