Represented in name only on the OS 6-inch maps. The field to the N of Cnocan na mBan (hillock of the women) (see GA110-048----) is known as ‘Fearann na gCeann’ (territory of the heads) from the skulls that were dug up here following a battle between the O’Briens who are said to have slaughtered each other almost to extinction while their women watched from the hillock to the S (Robinson 1980).
