Detached three- or five-bay two-storey farmhouse, extant 1840, on a T-shaped plan with single-bay (single-bay deep) two-storey central return (south). Occupied, 1911. Hipped slate roof on a T-shaped plan centred on pitched slate roof (south) with clay ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having capping supporting terracotta or yellow terracotta pots, rendered coping to gable (south) with rendered chimney stack to apex having capping supporting terracotta or yellow terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered slate flagged eaves retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Rendered walls. Central door opening into farmhouse. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing two-over-two timber sash windows. Square-headed window openings (south) with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing eight-over-eight timber sash windows. Set in landscaped grounds.

A farmhouse representing an integral component of the domestic built heritage of south County Wexford with the architectural value of the composition, one latterly known as "Ballygarvey House", suggested by such attributes as the symmetrical footprint centred on a restrained doorcase; and the slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated visual impression. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior where contemporary joinery; chimneypieces; and sleek plasterwork refinements, all highlight the artistic potential of the composition. Furthermore, adjacent limewashed outbuildings (extant 1840) continue to contribute positively to the group and setting values of a self-contained ensemble having historic connections with the Prendergast family including Nicholas Prendergast (d. 1896), 'Farmer late of Ballygarvey County Wexford' (Calendars of Wills and Administrations 1897, 391).
