Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Tullowbrin

Two stone rings, one larger than the other, lie conjoined in a shallow hollow on the Tullowbrin terrace, their walls reduced to scattered rubble that barely breaks the grass. The larger circle measures about thirty-two metres across and faces east, where the land opens and sight travels far. Local tradition calls such places fairy forts, as if the residents left in a hurry or never wished to be found. The stones may have marked a human dwelling, a boundary, or a warning, but time has erased the purpose and left only shape.
