Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Tomdeely South

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Tomdeely South once held a forty-metre stone ring, now erased from the level pasture. The fairies kept that circle before people forgot it, and the land still remembers the shape even when the stones no longer show. What was built there may have been a home, a boundary, or a trap for greed. The absence does not mean the place is empty; it means the circle stopped answering ordinary sight.
In level pasture. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam c. 40m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. According to local information enclosing element was a dry-stone wall. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
