Garrai Gallda is a large circular stone enclosure in level pasture near Lough Currane, measuring nearly fifty metres across. Its wide wall bears large regular slabs on the outside, though repeated rebuilding has blurred the inner structure and the origin of the northwest entrance. The flat, empty interior invites wonder about whether people lived there, hidden passages extend beneath it, or the fort belongs entirely to fairy tradition.

This large, circular stone enclosure, known locally as Garrai Gallda, is located in level pasture 300m NW of Lough Currane. The site encloses an area measuring 48.75m N-S by 49.6m E-W. The upper courses of the stone enclosing element appear to have undergone a series of rebuildings. The wall is 1.2m high and at least 2m wide. It has an external facing of large regular slabs, but its inner face is not readily apparent. An entrance, 2.4m wide, is located at NW but it is not clear if this is an original feature. The interior of the site is level and featureless. O'Connell noted a large 'cahir' and Man-made underground passage (KE098-018001-) in this townland (OPW), and it seems likely this is the site to which he was referring.
