What is recorded here
Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Tawnagh is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Tawnagh, County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1915 OS 6-inch map marked a circular enclosure about fifty metres wide on an undulating landscape with field walls. The site is no longer visible in pasture, though a cashel stands about one hundred and fifty metres to the northwest.
Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 50m), and situated on an undulating landscape with field walls. It is not visible at ground level in pasture but it was probably a cashel. The cashel (RO048-132----) is c. 150m to the NW.
