Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Poulawack

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Twenty-five paces across on a sunny Clare slope, the grassed wall still marks a room built for people, not fantasies. A larger cashel waits twenty-five metres north-west, suggesting a neighbourhood rather than a lonely box. Later fields cut through three sides, proving the wall survived human impatience. The fairies may have taken the meaning, but the stones kept the shape.
On a gentle S-facing slope on a karst plateau and within an extensive field system (CL009-032001-). A subrectangular cashel (c. 25m N-S; c. 25m E-W) defined by a grassed-over stone wall, visible on Digital Globe (2011-2013) and on OSi orthophotography (MapGenie 2013-2018). A later field boundary overlies the N and E sides and the N half of the W side. A larger subrectangular cashel (CL009-032011-) lies c. 25m to the NW.
