What is recorded here

No visible trace remains in Monanoe, County Clare, though local memory still names the lost fort. People called it a fairy fort, which means human fear and wonder built the story before any written record. The stones may have fallen, been moved or buried, but the name preserved the shape of the place and the warning that it should not be disturbed.
