What is recorded here

Cutting through the grassland at Liss, a circular wall once stood thirty metres across before collapsing into the earth. The field boundary now crosses its eastern edge, hiding the northern trace while the southern bank still holds a buried revetment. People may have lived inside that ring, or perhaps they avoided it because fairy forts belong to unseen neighbours. Either way, the grass swallowed the stones and the fort became a rumour in the soil.

In gently undulating grassland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1920) as a circular enclosure (D c. 30m) cu by a field boundary at E and SSW. No visible surface trace survives to N of this boundary.
