Closed loop in Clare: a cashel, not a passing heap. Thirty-five metres across inside, its wall lost into a two-to-four-meter spread of stone, half a metre high within and nearly a metre without. The shape still works; the field around it has changed hands and uses many times. A disused pen leans against the north-east, proving the place still gives up room for living things.

On a very gentle W-facing slope in rough pasture, within a multiperiod field system CL005-014001-. Hachured on the 1842 and 1916 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). A poorly preserved oval cashel (int. dims 19m E-W; 16m N-S) defined by a stone spread (Wth 2-4m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.6-0.9m). A later and now disused pen abuts the NE side.
