Knockaunbrack holds a subcircular cashel thirty-one metres wide, its drystone wall choked by overgrowth and cut through by a later field boundary. The site sits two hundred and thirty metres west of another ringfort, creating a dense cluster of ancient defences in North Galway. A narrow entrance at the southeast remains visible, inviting speculation about the people who lived beside these stones before forgetting claimed them.

Some 230m W of a ringfort (GA005-085----). Poorly preserved subcircular cashel (E-W 31m, N-S 29m) defined by a drystone wall most of which is obscured by overgrowth. A field boundary overlies the enclosing element from SE through S to SW. There is an entrance (Wth 1.5m) at SE. A ringfort (GA005-087----) lies c. 130m to SE.
