What is recorded here

Fairy forts in West Cork are not fantasy, they are abandoned human settlements misnamed because people stopped remembering the hands that built them. Kilnaknappoge is one of those: a shallow stone circle on a grazing slope, with cultivation ridges still crossing the ground and a later wall tucked inside the older one. The fairies entered later, filling the gap left by forgotten neighbours.

In rough grazing, on NNW-facing slope. Circular area (22m N-S; 23.5m E-W) enclosed by collapsed stone wall (H 0.5m). Later wall runs inside cashel wall to NW. Cultivation ridges cross interior on N-S axis; possible Man-made underground passage (CO092-03102-) in NW quadrant.
