What is recorded here

Killeenhugh holds a ruined cashel where a field wall once curled around a living home. The main structure has collapsed, but a substantial wall still emerges in the northeast, proving the circle was more than a boundary for cattle. People may have stood inside that ring, watched the galway sky or kept what they valued from the storm. The fairies never appeared in the facts, yet they are in the name, waiting for someone to stop treating the stones as ordinary.

On a gentle rise in an area of grassland and rock outcrop. Marked on the 3rd edition (1922) of the OS 6-inch map as a roughly curving subcircular field wall (c. 40m NE-SW). The remains of a much-collapsed but substantial wall, possibly the remains of a cashel wall, are visible beneath it in the NE quadrant.
