What is recorded here

Kilbreedy is an ancient stone ringfort, not a fairy fort. It stands on a gentle south-facing slope in County Limerick, enclosed by an earth-and-stone bank roughly thirty metres across. The western gap and curved outer bank suggest a designed entrance, while limestone outcrops still break the interior floor. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the field wall cut through its eastern edge.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope, in area of outcropping limestone. Circular area (30m N-S; 29.2m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 1.3m; ext. H 0.32m), best preserved NW->NE. Bank truncated by dry-stone field wall NE->E. Gap in bank (Wth 4.9m) at W. Earth-and-stone bank (H 0.5m) abuts enclosing bank at WSW, then curves gently to the WNW for c. 11.8m before fading out.
