What is recorded here

Mortons and others may have lived there before the fairies took the fort, but the stones still stand eighteen metres wide on the heathery bog. Three small compartments built into the eastern collapse suggest people kept animals or stored tools inside the ruin, yet the modern field wall leans against the ancient edge like a later hand pressing a thumb into clay. The stream runs thirty metres west, close enough to drink but far enough to keep the fort dry, while better land waits beyond the plateau.

Internal diam. c. 18m. A circular area enclosed by a ruined stone wall. A modern field wall is built on the inside edge of the original wall. The outer edge is still traceable. The original width was at least 2m. Three small 'compartments' have been built in the wall-collapse on the E side. The site is located on heathery bog on a slight rise at the NW extremity of a plateau. There is a stream 30m to the W and better land to the N and W.
