What is recorded here
Eantybeg North holds a shallow stone ring where a wide entrance was later choked to a narrow gap, proving the place changed hands or rules before memory faded. The wall footing barely rises above the pasture, yet the interior domes slightly higher on the steep side, as if the earth itself leaned inward to keep what lived there. People may have crowded through the broad opening, watched the slope, or retreated into the small space when storms or strangers came. The narrowed door suggests exclusion, perhaps a household claiming what everyone once shared.
Near the bottom of a S-facing slope, in rough pasture within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-030001-). This very poorly preserved subcircular cashel (31.7m N-S; 24.5m E-W) is defined by the denuded footing of a stone wall (H 0.5-0.7m; Wth 1.2-1.8m). There is an entrance (Wth 2.6m) at the SSW. This entrance was later narrowed to 0.8m, by filling in its E side with stones. A large lintel-like slab (L 1.3m; Wth 0.4m; T 0.2m) lies on the ground surface c. 2m to the W of the entrance. There is a modern entrance gap at the S. The cashel interior is slightly domed, rising 0.3-0.7m over the wall-footing on most sides, but higher (1.6m) at N-SE where the slope is steeper.
