What is recorded here

Corrafaireen holds a worn stone ring where houses still straddle the ancient boundary. The fort is not a clean circle but a lived-in shape, with one gap at the south that may be as old as the wall itself. People built beside and through it for generations, turning a defensive enclosure into an ordinary neighbour.

Within a settlement cluster (GA058-088----). Poorly preserved subcircular enclosure (E-W 48m, N-S 44m) defined by a drystone wall. A number of modern gaps occur, but that at S (Wth 3m) appears to be original. Several houses, associated with the settlement cluster, lie within the monument, some abutting the inner face of the enclosing wall, and one at NE actually straddling it.
