Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Cloghnakeava

No visible castle exists because the chamber is beneath the grass, reachable through a hidden passage in the west wall. The fort is a stone ring in Galway pastureland, broad enough to hold a small household and tall enough to keep out rain, predators and unwanted visitors. Its two gaps may mark entrances, one wider for carts or herds and one narrower for people. The chamber below may have stored grain, hidden people or served a household that no longer leaves names behind.
