Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Invisible hands may have built the fort, but human bones still mark the chamber where the trickery happened. The chamber is an oval room thirty-three metres long, walled in collapsed stone on a Galway hill. A later field wall crosses part of the seam, and a narrow passage cuts through the floor into darkness. The fairies did not create the chamber; they entered the chamber that human hands had already made.
On a hill summit in pastureland. Poorly preserved oval cashel (33m E-W; N-S c. 25m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall, which is overlain by a later field wall from SE to SW. There is a Man-made underground passage (GA113-097001-) in the interior. (McCaffrey 1952, 269, no. 10) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 28 November 2017
