Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Carrickoneilleen is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Carrickoneilleen, County Sligo, Ireland. The circular raised area measures twenty-three metres across and is enclosed by a drystone wall of rubble limestone that stands one point three metres high. A narrow break in the northern wall may mark the original entrance, though dense scrub now hides much of the structure from view.
Situated on a slight rise in gently undulating pasture. Circular raised area (diam. 23m) enclosed by a drystone wall of rubble limestone (Wth 1.2m; H 1.3m). There is no fosse visible at ground level. A break (Wth 0.9m) in the wall at N may mark the position of the original entrance. This monument is densely overgrown with scrub and is largely inaccessible. Compiled by: Patrick F.
