Half a ring of coarse stone still marks the southern edge of a forgotten home, while the northern half has vanished into rough pasture and time. The surviving wall rises one and a half metres above the plateau, overlooking Poulacarran Valley and joining an older pattern of fields that stretched across the land. People may have lived there, tended animals or simply claimed the high ground before the stones were stripped for newer walls. What remains is not a complete fortress but a broken line, sharp enough to show that the place was shaped and important.

At the edge of a plateau, in rough pasture and bushes within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-074001-), with land immediately to N-NE sloping into Poulacarran Valley. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Referred to by Westropp (1898, 359) as a ‘coarsely built, much dilapidated irregular caher’. This perhaps subcircular cashel (diam. c. 28m ENE-WSW) has been partly levelled; only its S half is extant. It is defined by a scarp (Wth at S 3.4m; H 1.6m) from E to SW. Scant remains of an outer wall-face are traceable from E to SW. A later drystone wall is built over this (combined H 1m) from S to SW. A cashel (CL009-219----) lies c. 77m to the SE.
