Canbeg holds a forgotten chamber where human fire and fairy witness still compete for the same stones. The severe drumlin slope faces the River Shannon, and the buried wall may have barred an doorway rather than closed a room. People called it a fairy fort because the shape refused ordinary use, not because the chamber was empty.

Located on the severe SE-facing slope of a drumlin c. 100m W of a NNE-SSW section of the River Shannon. This is a grass and rush-covered subcircular area (int. dims 22m NW-SE; 20m NE-SW) defined by the overgrown foundations of a stone wall (Wth 1m; int. H 0.1-0.5m; ext. H 0.5-0.8m), but the original entrance is not identified. The monument is curtailed by field walls at N and E.
