Mortons and Fairies both claim the forgotten fort at Caherpeak East. The D-shaped cashel stretches thirty-two metres through level grassland, its collapsed drystone wall still standing from southeast to south. A narrow two-metre gap marks the entrance, while field-clearance rubble leans against the outer face at south-southwest. Humans may have lived there before becoming local legend.
