Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Caher Island

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Caher Island in County Mayo, Ireland holds a stone ringfort called a fairy fort. The round cashel stands on a small island, surrounded by water and distance. People may have lived there, defended it or left it to legend. The stones still mark the shape of that forgotten choice.
