A circular area (diam. c. 47.5m) defined by an earthen and stone bank (Wth c. 2.9m, int. H 0.5m, ext. H c. 1.2m). Original entrance at NNE. Traces of a circular hut site (diam c. 11m) in the NE quadrant of the cashel. Entrance at N. A circular early-medieval stone and earthen banked ringfort in Ballyprior, likely dating to between the 6th and 10th centuries AD, with a small internal hut circle suggesting domestic occupation. Locally known as a "fairy fort," such sites were traditionally believed to be the dwellings of fairies or ancient supernatural beings in Irish folklore.
