Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Ballynamona is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Ballynamona, County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies the level summit of a broad north-south ridge, where a steep natural east-facing slope rises immediately beside the site. A nineteen-metre circular area is enclosed by a wide rubble limestone bank, although no ditch remains visible at ground level. The external bank face reappears inside an east-west drystone field wall, while a narrow break and slight ramp mark the original entrance.

Situated on level summit of broad N-S orientated ridge with the steep natural E-facing slope of the ridge immediately to the E of the site. Raised circular area (diam. 19m) enclosed by a bank of rubble limestone (Wth 7.9m; int. H 0.4m). There is no fosse visible at ground level. The external face of the bank has been rebuilt SSE-SSW as part of an E-W orientated drystone field wall. A break (Wth 2m) in the bank and a slight ramp at SSW marks the position of the original entrance. The remains a possible Man-made underground passage (SL015-066001-) are located on the NE side of the interior, 2m within the internal base of the bank. Compiled by: Patrick F.
