No fairy fort exists, only a ruined cashel: a circular stone wall about twenty-nine metres across, built with two drystone lines on a gentle north-facing slope in Ballymullen. Its eastern inner wall follows the natural rock outcrop instead of fighting it, and a three-metre gap at the northeast still marks the entrance. The name “fairy fort” is local story, not fact; the stones are human, broken by time, and honest about it.

An unusual feature is the incorporation of the natural rock outcrop in the make-up of the inner wall at E. An entrance gap (Wth 3m) is evident at NE.
