Fairy forts are stone rings built by human hands, yet local story consistently withholds the exact date, purpose and people who made them. That gap is not a flaw, but an invitation to watch the place without forcing it into a modern shape. In Ballymarkahan the ring may have marked a home, a boundary, a ritual site or a forgotten claim to land. It still exists because people kept returning to it, even when the name and date slipped away.
