What is recorded here

No visible stones remain of the O'Caidhin Clan fort, yet a man-made passage marked Cave on old maps still breathes beneath the rocky ridge. The fort may have sunk into earth or been stripped for building, but the hole persists like a forgotten door. If the passage is the cashel's shadow, then Ballykine Lower keeps its guardian hidden rather than lost.

On rocky ridge containing Ballykine house and tower house (MA120-033001-). Knox (1904, 100) refers to an old stone fort of the O'Caidhin Clan. No visible surface trace. A Man-made underground passage (MA120-033002-), marked 'Cave' on the 1838 and 1929 OS 6-inch maps, may mark the site of the cashel. The above description has been derived from D.
