Fairy fort in Ballinvally is a cashel: a 51m circular enclosure on a NW-facing terrace, its earth-and-stone bank still carrying large facing stones at the west. The true entrance has disappeared, and a meandering field wall crosses the grassy interior like a forgotten boundary. People may have lived there, marked ownership, or simply avoided it after dark; the stones no longer say which.

Located on a terrace on a NW-facing slope. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 51m N-S; 51m E-W) defined by a grass-covered earth and stone bank with some large stones and visible facing-stones at W (Wth of base 5-6m; int. H 0.3-0.7m; ext. H 0.3-0.9m). The original entrance is not identified, and the interior is crossed by a meandering E-W grass-covered relict field wall (Wth c. 5m; H 0.3-0.5m) that does not survive outside the monument. The perimeter is slightly clipped by a NE-SW field wall at SE. It is probably a cashel.
