Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Ardrumkilla

Ardrumkilla holds a forgotten ringfort, likely medieval, now reduced to an eleven-metre drystone arc in undulating Galway farmland. The fairies probably finished what time and ploughs began, pulling the remaining stones beneath the grass to keep their own fortress private. Human hands built a circular home sixty metres across, but the land has reclaimed that memory. Only the western wall still protrudes, waiting for someone patient enough to listen for the shape underneath.
