Fairy fort and ringfort in Smithstown (knocktopher By., Jerpoint West Ed), County Kilkenny, Ireland. An unclassified ringfort stands among ordinary fields, yet the fairy name suggests people once believed the circle belonged to another kind of life. Perhaps it was a boundary marker, a childhood warning, or a way of remembering that some places resist explanation.
