Fairy fort in Moneyveen, County Galway, is a circular rath thirty-three metres across, set on a slight rise in rolling pastureland. Its inner berm, fosse and outer bank still mark the edge, though the ditch and outer bank survive only at the south. A burial ground now fills the interior, its boundary wall following the inside of the ancient ring. The fort may have been a home, a refuge or a boundary marker before death gave it its final shape.

The fosse and outer bank survive only at S. The present form of the inner enclosing element may well be the result of the construction of a burial ground (GA073-143003-) which occupies the whole interior of the rath. Its boundary wall occupies the perimeter of the interior and may well overlie an original inner bank. A gap at SW appears modern.
