What is recorded here
Marked as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and known locally as the site of a 'raheen'. It is on a slight N-facing slope. Nothing is visible at ground level but it can be seen as faint circular cropmark enclosure (diam. c. 60m) defined by traces of a single slight fosse feature on aerial photographs (MM (15)12–16).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
