Fairy fort / ringfort in Liscune Lower

Fairy fort / ringfort

What is recorded here

Liscune Lower holds an unclassified ringfort, meaning even the survey leaves its exact purpose unfinished. The earthworks stand beside ordinary Galway farmland, waiting for someone to explain whether they guarded a home, marked a boundary or belonged to the fairies. That gap between fact and fantasy is not a failure, but an invitation. A ringfort is a circle made by human hands, yet local names often hand what is unknown back to the fairies.
