Fairy fort / ringfort in Levitstown (dunmanoge Ed)

Fairy fort / ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible fort exists in Levitstown, only a ghost line in the soil that appears when crops grow unevenly. The hidden ditch draws a twenty-five-metre circle, large enough for a small house or a burial mound, yet no wall, gate or stone remains for anyone to touch. It may be a forgotten home or a grave, but the earth has erased the answer. What is left is a shape the land still remembers, waiting for rain or sunlight to reveal it again.
Aerial photograph (CUCAP BGN 50) shows a cropmark of a fosse defining a circular enclosure (est. max diam. c. 25m). It may be either a ringfort or ring-barrow. Date of upload: 15 September 2016

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
