What is recorded here

Thirty metres of grass and stone circle the sky in Lecarrowmactully, waiting for rain. Two banks and a hidden ditch mark the edge of a small world, while a northern gap invites entry or departure. The land floods around the rise, erasing outer traces but preserving the inner circle. People may have lived there, buried there, or simply avoided the water that returns each winter. The fort remains because so much else has been washed away.

On a rise in rolling grassland prone to flooding. Well-preserved circular ringfort (D 30.5m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The internal face of the inner bank is revetted with stone. No visible surface trace of the fosse or outer bank survives from NE to E. A gap (Wth 3.7m) at N could be original.
