Lecarrowmactully holds a circular rath twenty-eight metres wide, its overgrown bank and western ditch still visible in gently undulating Galway grassland. The structure is poorly preserved and punctured by modern breaches, yet its shape resists forgetting. People may have lived there, fled there or simply walked past it, but the land kept the circle intact long enough for others to measure it.
