What is recorded here

You can still see the edge of the fort in the way the grass bends and darkens, even though the bank has almost vanished. It is a small circular place in open Galway fields, and it hides a cut passage beneath the ground. The fort has lost most of its shape, but it has not stopped marking the land.

In undulating grassland. Very poorly preserved circular rath (D c. 20m), known locally as 'the fort'. A curving field bank indicates the line of the monument from SE through S to NW; elsewhere a change in vegetation colour defines it.
