Fairy fort / ringfort in Grallagh

Fairy fort / ringfort

What is recorded here

That is the smallest chamber built for the greatest distance. A ringfort eighty metres across, levelled into pasture on a low hilltop in Grallagh, County Dublin. Cameras flying above in 1977 drew its hidden triple ditch into shadow while people walking past saw only grass. The land keeps its shape in moisture and light, waiting for someone to stop measuring and remember.
Situated in pasture on a low hilltop (317') with extensive views of the surrounding countryside. An aerial photograph taken in 1977 (BKS 2736240/39) shows an impressive cropmark of a levelled trivallate ringfort (max. diam. c. 80m). Not visible at ground level.
