Fairy fort in Gortoorlan, County Cavan: marked Fort on OS maps from 1836, hidden beneath grass at the mountain’s foot. People may have circled it, feared it or forgotten it while the mountain watched. Mapmakers drew what memory or shape suggested; the ground kept its own secret.
