Fairy fort in Gallagh, County Galway: an almost circular rath 31.5m wide in gently undulating grassland, with an inner scarp, a fosse between, and an outer bank partly covered by a field wall at the west. People may have lived there, fenced it, forgotten it, or fed it stories until stone and soil became a name for what will not be asked twice.
